KINDERGARTEN 2014
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
lynley has officially started kindergarten.
she changed her clothes 3 times. and i tossed and turned pretty much all night. and packed her way too much food for lunch. we all (including all 4 cats and pixie) went out and waited for the bus to come. she was nervous.. but SO EXCITED. when the bus pulled up and opened it's doors, she walked right up and didn't look back. those steps were as big as she was!
i shed more than a few tears after i watched the bus pull away. callie was distraught! she sat by the car and cried to "go" i wanted to do the same thing! and all day she kept saying "where nin? where ninny?"
oh man. this girl! she is so amazing. on sunday night we had a special family night. we talked about our family theme for this school year which is "shine bright!" we sang the primary song "i am like a star shining brightly" i gave her a bracelet with a little star on it to remind her that she is a star, and that she can shine so bright! also that we love her. tyler then gave her a father's blessing. she was beaming the whole time. it was so, amazing and sweet to watch her get so filled up. to feel so special, and so loved.
oh how we love her! the whole day tyler would call me, and just be in shock, like is our baby girl really at school?! i know. i know! my house was very quiet (and clean)... that last hour i paced back and forth back and forth.. it was killer. when i saw that bus coming up the road i was so excited. and then when she finally ran back into my arms.. my relief was just.. overwhelming. it'd been like a limb was away from my body all day long!
we all survived. she LOVED every second of her day. she told me all about her lunch room, recess, how she got into a little bit of trouble from talking when her teacher was talking. about how they had a nap time, but only put their heads down on their desks and it was NOT comfortable. she walked in the door and had to go potty, and was SO thirsty. and coulndt' wait to take her shoes and socks off. i can't remember the last time she wore shoes and socks! she learned that she needs to throw her garbage away after lunch.. that half full squeezie leaked all over her backpack on the bus. oops. she told me that 2nd graders were kissing on the lips behind the bus (?) she said they learned the letter A and the number 1. she loved riding the bus talking with her friends and looking out the window. to hear all about her day, and to squeeze her, made me feel better about all of this growing up stuff.
we missed her like CRAZY. but.. i am just so proud of the little person that she is becomming. and i thank God everyday for her in my life. she is such a good big sister. such an amazing daughter. and friend. she is just amazing! and i know that she is just going to do amazing things this year.
