Nap-Time Crafting & Blogging :)

Lynley is finally on a somewhat regular naptime routine! yay! The first couple of days i didn't know what to do with myself. I mean, there's only so much cleaning, laundry, cooking (all i want to cook are desserts..which isn't good for my "get rid of this baby weight now!" goal) So, out of the blue one day, Ty had someone he works with send me a few links of other mom's blogs..(boy is he sorry now) They had all these fun, easy, quick crafts! And, it isnpired me. It's great! i get to be creative, and this house could use a freshening up amidst all this remodeling. So, here's some i\pics of my latest & greatest, maybe it'll give YOU some ideas for your naptime afternoons! :)

Lynley still is bald as...ha a baby! So, i had all this cute fabric ( i can't go into a fabric store with walking out with one or two...!) I was making soft baby shoes & stuffed animals with them..(i'm going to make some more shoes when i get my sewing machine back..so stay tuned! there super cute, and once you get the hang of em, super easy! plus there like 20 bucks at a store! way cheaper to make them!) I used my hot glue gun and put em all together! it was way fun, and they look darling on lyn's cute little bald head! I'd take a pic of her wearing some, but if im blogging, my model is sleeping

this corner of our counter top has turned into my crafting corner. Tyler isnt a fan..but more a motivation to finish a room downstairs!! haha

SPRAY PAINT. Enough said. i bought these frames for 50 cents at DI, with a little spray paint, there Nursery ready!

This little beauty was left in our backyard by the previous owners. ugly, right? not to mention it was filled with crap. I saw potential in this little jewel. I needed something to either go at the foot of our bed, or under our tv! I knew i wantted to stencil it, and paint it a light blue, coordinating with our room.

Step one, i sanded it. Step two, i painted it all white with some paint we had lying around.

Now it's all white. Next was a guessing game. I made a stencil out of blue painters tape (no pic! sorry!) then i layed it down and started spray painting the thing blue. I didn't care if there were drips, or if it was uneven, my end goal was for it to look OLD, ANTIQUE, beat up if you will. (which is perfect becuase i really don't have the patience for painting...!) After it was all painted, i took the electric sander to it and went to town trying to make it look like it's been around for awhile...(which it probably has!)

And...Here it is. It is a little bluer then i had anticipated, but i'll prob refinish it agian eventually to a different color! haha but for now, i'm happy with how it turned out! and we'll no long have movies all over our floor getting stepped on and broken. And BONUS! we'll have a somewhere to sit to put our shoes on! haha
Just in time...the little one's a stirring...!!
