i am getting behind!
okay, here's some photos from my trip to brazil!
this first set was taken in a town called Embu. it was a little shopping place, with good music, and good food, and good shopping.
we were able to visit the Sau Paulo temple while there. it poured that day, but the grounds were beautiful. and even though we were in a different country, the spirit was the same on those grounds. it was a neat expirience.
we were also able to visit my great-grandparents (granmothers side) graves. i have been wanting to do this, for forever, and it was an amazing time. the cemetary was so gorgeous, and being able to put flowers on their headstone was something i'll never forget. although i never met them, i have always felt a close connection to them, and i cannot wait to mee them in the next life. i think we'll really like eachother :)
my granma looked especially beautiful this day. she loved her parents, and she was verrrry loved by them. not native brazilians, they always dreamed of returning to Cezchlaslovakaia, but never had that opportunity. they were amazing people, who worked hard their whole lives.
we flew to Rio for a few days and did "sugar loaf"! you take two cable cars up to the top of this huge, rock! haha the views were amazing, and this little monkey was pretty funny. dad and i had to stop half way up to enjoy a guarana zero, obviously.
the next day in rio,, we had some SUNSHINE!! we walked the beach, and then headed up to the famous Christ statue. it was so crowded, but the views were amazing, and we snapped our picture just before the clouds moved in and totally covered everything. lucky us! it is a humongus statue. and was really cool.
next, we visited Santos. we sat on the beach, we saw the apartment that they lived, we even got to go inside the club that they were members of! i could just picture dad and his siblings running all over that place, and i could see grandma and papi playing tennis all day, and just being together there. it was really neat.
in between all the sight seeing, we got to see all the homes that my family lived in, the schools my dad attended, and the places that he grew up.
also, we got to spend some time in the MTC. which was really amazing.
the spirit with those missionaries is very strong.
i could write and write about all the things i thought, felt and expiriecned the two weeks in Brazil. and maybe slowly stories will be written down, but there are just so many!
for now, i'll just say, that i am greatful, and blessed to be apart of the family that i am. to have so many people here on this earth, and in heaven that love me, and want nothing but the best for me.
i feel just, really blessed.
this trip was amazing, and spending that time with my dad was so great.
he's a really good man and father.
and being able to really connect with granmda and papi..was probably one of my favorite parts about the whole trip.
they're amazing people.
a once in a lifetime trip, that was.
