we had been planning for 2 weeks to camp the weekend after memorial day.
and camp we did!
we loaded up the camper and all the gear and food, (camping is lots of work!) and we headed up the the Tucannon National Forest. We found ourselves a really nice campground and started camping!
we fished. and we caught...5 i think!
i of course (as per tradition) caught the first fish.
lynley managed to snag the second!
then tyler cast about 100 times and caught himself a fishy too.
after her big catch of the day!
we took walks around the campground. there was a river/stream that ran through the whole place! the water was FREEZING (not that i felt it...) and there were some kids that were swimming in it. full on swimming. mind boggling.
lyn squishing in the stroller with callie.
working on the art of fishing.
when i snapped this photo, i knew that i was going to LOVE it. tyler hates fishing, becuase he cant ever catch any! it's always me, or the person next to him that gets all the fish luck. he tries and tries, different bait, different style of cast, different stance, different location, time, geesh the guy is so sure that there is a science behind it (i'm sure there isn't ha) his excitment at lyn reeling in that fish was the best. so excited. it sorta makes me melt a litttle.
it was such a good weekend. it was so refreshing to be disconnected from the world for a weekend. to recharge with just our little family. it was a bit difficult for everyone to adjust, even the kids without movies and other technology distractions... but after a day we got the hang of it. we painted, took walks, lots of campfire stories, and treats. we went on a scavenger hunt, and lyn met some friends too.
i foresee many many camping weekends in our future!
