Feijoada

This is what we ate for (or will be eating) dinner tonight! It's a family classic for me, i grew up on it! It's a brazilian dish, that is easy & so tasty! Here's the recipie..and i measure by smell, and taste so feel free to add or take away wherever you feel the need :)

FIRST:

in the bottom of a large pot, warm olive oil (a good amount)
add chopped onion (1/2 to 1)
& diced garlic (1-2)
annndd add chopped pork chop

let everything simmer together. it should smell wonderful.

after pork chops are browned, add 4,5 or 6 (depending on how much your making. i do 4 cans for me and ty and we'll have leftovers)of black beans with water that comes in the can into pot.
I add some salt at this point. if you don't, you'll want to later.

let everything simmer for however long you have. i let mine simmer for about an hour to ensure all flavors are mixed well.

WHAT GOES ON TOP
dice:
tomatos (depending on how much your making..1,2,3,or 4)
onion (no more then 2)
cilantro ( love cilantro so i may go a bit overboard)
add a little olive oil & white vinegar.
mix all togther and chill for a little bit

you serve this on top of the beans.

SERVE EVERYTHING OVER WHITE RICE.

enjoy!! :)
