we are just a few days from Christmas, and we are all excited!
we started the month out with putting the tree up, and pulling out our nativity sets. i always start out real grinch like. and it's always a sick feeling, that first talk about Christmas with lynley. "what is christmas about?" to which she answers : PRESENTS! SANTA!
yuck.
so then i fight off the urge to totally debunk this whole santa business all together. but i keep that realist mom at bay... i fight her off tooth and nail.
we start talking about Jesus every night. reading scriptures. and watching movies. and... it sticks! she finally gets it. she wasn't too sure about santa at towards week two in December... and told us he wasn't real more than a few times... and we just kind of ingorned her hahah. and when santa came to our ward party, she leaned over and whipsered, "this guys a fake." haha but happily sat on the fat man's lap and told him she wanted a hello kitty toy. (i hurried on amazon that night..)
what else did we do this month..? we split a lot of wood, and then stacked it. it snowed, which was fun for lyn. (it's still here... grrr) we learned lots of lessions about country living. tyler sold tons at work. and we got callings.. and we just, i dunno. it's been a good month.
callie is walking everywhere now. and even has kicked it up a notch! we are still nursing.. and this morning i wasn't going to, and she just sat there and stared at me and cried til i did. ha it's nice to feel needed :)
lynley is still loving preschool. and at her xmas party this week she said over and over "this is the best day ever!" cute. she kind of knows the pledge of alligence.. "i pledge allegince to the FLAY" she will not have it any other way. she doesn't believe any of us that it is flag. nope, FLAY. haha she loves going over to grandma's house, and wants me to drop her off, not stay. apparently mom just isn't fun anymore. she is a really good girl, and is a huge help to me every day. she learned how to clean a toilet this month! what a great day! haha
anyways, thats about it. i'll do a giant xmas post before 2014, so it can be in 2013's book :)
here's a start:
we started, and continued in a bunch of christmas traditions this year!
we did lots of crhistmas treat making.
we made ornaments.
lynley slept under the tree one night.
we watched lots of xmas movies.
we wrapped, and bought presents.
we did some service.
......
there needs to be more service on this list i am thinking. :)
i love her sweet, innocent face. she has become such a beautifl little girl. so full of laughter, and life. she loves to work outside with her dad. and the cold doesn't stop her from staying out with him, well after dark even. she loves her little kitty, snickerdoodle. she loves callie, and takes very good care of her. she still loves charlie and marley and soft DD, and all the many many other animals and toys that get to sleep with her everynight. she says the best, sweetest prayers. she is thoughtful. she isn't afraid to be friends with anyone, or invite anyone over. she is just a light in our lives. and we love her so so so much.
