here are some pics taht i haphazzardly (ha!) took of the finished (for now) product of our labors.
the flag pole. ty has wanted a flag pole for as long as probably forever. it's like the mans dream to make his house HIS. it's like..how i want cutains. only much more patriotic, and cool. even to me.
we made lynley put her hand prints in the concrete. which, of course, are the cutest things ive ever seen. i may or may not have even shed a tear at this moment.
our neighbor girls (whom we love) sang the Star Spangled Banner as ty raised the flag up. haha. very cute.
but really, i do love it. i love this country, and i am proud to be an American (you know it's true, because i even capitilized it, and spelled it right) i appreciate so much all the troops serving and fighting to maintain the freedoms that me and mine enjoy. those men are awesome.

okkkkkay. so. we may or maynot be known as the neighborhood freaks. because this mama insists on s'mores every night. ha! but anyways..so here's our garden boxes, fully stocked with all sorts of yummy lovliness. and our firepit. and look how good our grass looks?!?!??!!!?? and no weeds. sigh. love.
lately. i am so greatful. and just like...in awe at how good our lives are. i know that trials will come, and we will have times of struggle. but right now, i am just enjoying this peaceful, simple life that we live. because i just really never ever though that it could be so good. being a homeowner is awesome. i blame that largely on the fact that tyler is so handy, and so capable. and so...ambitious. and such a freakin hard worker. i have learned a lot from that boy. like you dont quit, even if it's lunch time. and...make it work. even if it seems like there's no way. and...if oyu do it yourself, you can probably afford it. and...serving others makes you happy. and...beign dead tired at the end of a day, actually feels dang good.
thank you brad & sanette. he learned all that from you!
ok. that was long. off to enjoy the freezing sunshine that naturally june 2nd would have to offer us. WHAT THE HECK! GET WARM ALREADY UTAH THIS IS RIDICULOUS. TO THE EXTREME. THAT EVEN REQUIRES TO ME TO YELL IN ALL CAPS. GRRR.
bye.

That's so funny you guys put up a flag pole because we want to do one too! Since we can't put one up for now, we just pay a little fee and our young men and young women come up put one up on our lawn on certain holidays. The older I get, the more appreciative I am for my country and proud. So happy flag pole day to you guys!
Your yard looks awesome !
