dads.

fathers have a place in us girls hearts, that they don't even get.
and not just our own fathers,
the fathers of our children, especially.

i have come to the conclusion, that although our men need us in many ways, the ways that we need them are totally different and unexplainable to them.

Fathers day for me has always been about my 2 dads. my father, and my step-father. i love them both so much, in different ways, and for differnt things. for they each play a different fatherly role in my life. and thats just how it is. they're both great men. and i feel very blessed to have them in my life. i mean, a girl is lucky to get one good dad, but 2? pretty cool.
In the last few years, fathers day has added a few people on my list of lovingness on dads.

Brad. my father-in-law. he is a great man. and every day i see so much of him in tyler. i am greatful that he raised a good boy, a hard working, honest, willing to serve, type of man.
and it has transformed even further to celebrating tyler, and his fatherhood to our daughter, and future children. watching him light up her face just by pulling in the driveway makes my heart happy. watching her insist on sitting on his lap during bedtime prayers, makes me smile. seeing her love for her dad and him for her, makes me feel secure and filled wth joy. because that is what its supposed to be like. i hope she never doubts the love he has for her. no matter what.

i am thankful for fathers, of all types. and even more,

i'm thankful for a loving Heavenly Father.
