lovely

our weekend was just that, lovely.

the race was G-R-EAT. we averaged 9 min miles, and came in right in the middle of the pack. (we're thrilled about that..at ragnar out of 200 teams, there were only like 20 teams behind us.) This race was a lot different than ragnar (in a good way i think) The course was 52 miles and there was 5 of us running. something that i loved about it was no overnight sleeping! (that was horrible about ragnar i thought) and you don't ahve to sit and wait while other 6 team members run their legs for hours and hours. We started at 8am and finished at around 4. Everyone ran really good, and ifelt like i gave it my all pushing myself harder than ever.

doing these races with my family is really cool. and i highly recommend it. i can't wait to have outdoor hobbies with my kids someday. i want to try new things with them, let them expirience the fresh air, and cheering on their siblings and parents. it's really bonding.

PLUS bonus! the weather was..gorgeous. i would've ran 20 miles just to feel that sun on my body. i even got a little cute sun on my face. its amazing how i can feel human agian after a few hours of warmth on my bones. of course we had to come home to rain and clouds...but i can see some light at tthe end of this horrible winter tunnel.

ALSO, we got to see lots O' friends & family. Kelli Calaway got married and we got to hang with all the calaways. (lucky us!) brett & barb's backyard was my childs dream. complete with sheep that acutally baaaa in real life, hokey's (horses) that sneeze and eat hay out of your hand. and sand/poop to run/throw. oh and doggys to attack you and lick your ears. can a backyard get better? i submit that it cannot!

it was fun. i find that i am so much happier/productive/nice/easygoing/did i say happy? if i have something to look forward to. even little weekend trips/races.

next up? redrock relay in may. (mom won half off the entry fee at the banquet after the race! go mom!)

wellp, i'm off to change a diaper..have a tea party..do laundry..unpack the car..eat an apple..and throw a shower in there too!

go find a 5k in your area and start training. it just may change your life. haha i swear!

ps check back later for photos if youre so inclined. naturally, i'm having technical difficulties (i cant get my stupid phone to cooporate with my wishes. why isn't there an annoying voice command for somthing like that? the voice command wants to work on it's own onllly when i don't have any need for it.)
